Do We Really Have Rights (Part 3)?

In case there’s any lingering question about whether we (who, by and large, are not parties to the Mosaic covenant) have rights, take a look at poor old Job.  One of Job’s “friends” had asserted that God was punishing Job because he had been an unjust judge.  In response, Job described his sterling judicial record (Job 29:7-17).  In brief, Job testified that he had been tireless in his efforts to vindicate the rights of the poor and oppressed.

My point?  Job was not a Jew.  He was not a party to the Mosaic covenantal administration.  If his righteous work involved vindicating rights, then others who are also not part of the Hebrew system of justice can rest assured that they too have rights that can (and should) be protected.
