I met Ian Macneil in Gloucester, England in 2004 at a conference commemorating the 150th anniversary of the renowned Hadley v. Baxendale, a decision read by all students of Contract law, even in India. Read an obituary here. Macneil's impact on the scholarship of Contract was substantial.
An extraordinarily kind gentleman who happily chauffeured my research assistant and me through the roundabouts and narrow streets of Gloucester.
