Delhi Is Still Crazy

Delhi is always very busy with building projects but construction for the upcoming Commonwealth Games has brought work on roads, the Metro, and event venues to a fever pitch.  Over the course of the last fourteen months much of the roadway from the (newly opened) Indira Gandhi Terminal to the fashionable Connaught Place has been resurfaced and even as one proceeds farther east toward Noida many roads are getting upgrades.  The cow removal project seems successful, too.  Of course, once one gets off the main roads--those on which the visitors to the Games will travel--much remains the same although expansion of the Metro is a very welcome.  Hot and very sticky but not enough rain (com’on, monsoon!).  Have managed to tie up with some old friends and make some new ones connected with DevPro India, an "NGO for NGOs," so to speak.
