"Taxation in the Bible"

A very short (12 pp.) primer on the subject of the title (abstract here). Especially useful is the bibliography. Neither moralistic nor (higher) critical, this piece is a fine resource for those who want to get into the details of the subject.

And timely, too, when we recall that the trip of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem was to be counted for Rome's census, which, in turn, was a means to the end of efficient taxation.
