Following the end of the Regent Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot participation described here, team members Andrew Butler, Aaron Lindquist, Kathleen Knudsen, and I spent much of beautiful Monday traipsing around the lower half of Manhattan.
A sobering visit to the site of World Trade Center Memorial and a look at the new One World Trade Center set to open on Memorial Day:
Then a walk across lower Manhattan to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge
and onto lunch at Piacere in Little Italy. (I can vouch for the cannelloni.) The "kids" continued out and about the rest of the day while I hoofed it back to the hotel.
The closing gala dinner had the big "reveals" of the winning team (SMU Dedman School of Law), best oralists, and best brief. I was moved by Bob Zinman's invocation and enjoyed a fine meal. A great end to a great day and a tremendous competition weekend. (Indeed, only the presence of team sponsor and all-around bon vivant Rusty Boleman could have made it better.)
