I first visited India in 2006 for a meeting of Advocates Asia, one of the regional groups of Advocates International. AI is a worldwide fellowship of advocates bearing witness of Jesus Christ through the legal profession. Although not focusing exclusively on matters of religious liberty, the freedom to worship and practice a religion according to one's conscience is at the core of AI's legal efforts.
Of interest to law students and junior attorney may be AI's new "Arm the Advocates Project" through which staff lawyers (to be hired) and law students will be deployed throughout the world. A potentially great opportunity for folks with a heart for putting law into practice in areas of great need.
