International Kandhamal Day
Like many other countries, access to justice in India can be uncertain. An example is the lack of meaningful official response to the violence against Christians in the Kandhamal District of the State of Orissa. The National Solidarity Forum has chosen August 25 as International Kandhamal Day to commemorate the 2007-2008 attacks that affected 60,000 people for which official justice remains wanting. A three-day “National People’s Tribunal on Kandhamal” will be held in Delhi starting on 22 August. This is a serious, non-violent response to the failure of local governance. Please check it out and contribute your support. Consider attending if you're in Delhi.
