By now most folks have heard of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of New York mega-firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, which at one time boasted over 1300 attorneys. Created by a merger of two rather large firms, Dewey (American history buffs might recognize "Dewey" as the losing Republican party candidate in the presidential elections of 1944 and 1948) grew rapidly by poaching partners from other Am Law 100 firms with offers of massive, guarantied incomes.
I've received repeated requests to address the Dewey & LeBoeuf bankruptcy. Okay, one request from pesky colleague Haskell Murray. So you can read some of my thoughts over at The Faculty Lounge here.
