Dined with ma'am Thursday night for the first time at the India Palace restaurant in Virginia Beach. Very impressed. In fact, I think it's the best (north) Indian cuisine in the Tidewater area. Appetizer of excellent papri chat with papad, perfectly done garlic naan and tandoori roti, and delicious kashmiri chicken and chicken tikka masala. Lots of basmati rice. Also had my first Taj Mahel beer, definitely better than Kingfisher. The sweet lassi was, perhaps, a bit too sweet but still very tasty.
The address of the India Palace is 5600 West Virginia Beach Boulevard but it's located in the middle of a strip mall that runs perpendicular to the main road so it's easy to miss. But don't. It's a great place for great Indian food with excellent service.

How ironic! My wife and I are meeting friends tomorrow at the India Palace for lunch. It will be our first time dining there.
