Earlier this week I posted some comments about the success of Trinity Western University in getting approval to add an LL.B. (law) degree to its curriculum. The approval addressed in that post dealt with the Canadian Federation of Law Societies. I suggested that provincial approval wouldn't be far behind and I was right. Go here to read TWU's news release reporting that it has now received the go-ahead from the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education.
It is gratifying to learn that a university that takes seriously the implications of the Christian faith has been able to get final approval in very secularized Canada. One might suspect that there will be legal challenges to provincial approval and later attempts to bar TWU's graduates from admission to the bars of some provinces but at least the road ahead is open.
